Goals of the Lab

The ISL is a new open laboratory environment developed under NSF support to enhance student learning in several ways, including

• Laboratory projects in RF circuits, digital design, and signal processing can be combined across courses to create modern complex systems
• Students in "lecture-only" courses can utilize laboratory "homework" experiments to better understand complex lecture topics
• Students will have facilities to explore and create new ideas outside the classroom
• The casual atmosphere and meeting facilities will help foster development of student learning communities within the department.
