HomeWork Policy
EECE 581, Spring 2003
Each week, the week's assignments are due
to be turned in by 5:00 pm on Wednesday. The students are to
work together on one set to turn in, but each student is
responsible for understanding all of the assigned problems!
We will often discuss homework in class,
so skipping class to work on homework is HIGHLY DISCOURAGED!
Do not put homework in my mailbox! If you can't find me,
just slip it under my door.
Group Policies And Procedures
- Unless otherwise instructed, you must work in groups of two
to four on the homework, handing in one solution per assignment.
The instructor will assign groups.
- If a student's name appears on a solution set, it certifies that he or
she has participated in solving problems. Students whose names do not
appear on a solution set will receive zeros.
- Homework will be accepted up to one week after the due date. Late homework
will receive a maximum grade of 50 %. However, if a group abuses this
privilege by routinely handing in homework late, the privilege will be
withdrawn. Homework solutions will not be posted. The burden is on you to
make sure you find out how to solve the problems before or after they are due.
- Groups having problems working together should make every effort to resolve
them by themselves. If that doesn't work, the group should see the course
instructor for help. Students who consistently fail to pull their weight can,
as a last resort, be fired by unanimous decision of the rest of their team,
and students repeatedly carrying the load for their teammates can, as a last
resort, quit. Students who either are fired or quit must find another group
with two or three members willing to take them on -- no individual homework
will be accepted.

Each team member should set up and attempt each problem individually, then
the group should get together to work out the details.
You are encouraged to do extra textbook problems for practice! Answers to selected problems
are in the back of the textbook.
