Recommendation and Cost-Sharing Statement
The IEEE PES/NSF Student Sponsorship program requires an advisor's endorsement
and a statement of institutional or industrial cost-share.
It is the policy of the selection committee to require cost-share to reduce the number of cancellations and no-shows to the meeting.
Each no-show student takes the place of another potential attendee and costs the program several hundred dollars. The committee
feels that a student is more highly motivated to attend the meeting and participate in the student events if he or she has the
support and endorsement of their institution or industrial sponsor.
Cost-sharing may take the form of a set monetary amount, transportation, and/or per diem expenses.
The deadline for receipt of completed applications is DECEMBER 1, 2001.
